BASIC MEASURING
Proper measuring of ingredients is important to successful cooking and baking.  Some food can be greatly affected by too much or too little of certain ingredients such as salt, baking powder, soda, flour, sugar, etc.
 
The information from this class will assist in ensuring that you are using correct measuring tools and measuring properly.

KNIFE SKILLS
Learning how to use a knife correctly is necessary when it comes to keeping you safe in the kitchen and make your food preparation more efficient.   Learning how to properly cut foods can prevent accidents. 
 
Cooking without mastering these basic knife skills is like a carpenter not knowing how to hammer a nail.

ENTERTAINING
We are going to have a little fun in this class and prepare for the holidays. 
 
Each group will make a batch of cookies.  The type of cookies we will be making will be rolled, drop, and bar cookies. 
 
We will then do some experimenting with finger foods. 
 
At the end of class all foods will be sampled by the class.
